Dear Friends of a Jewish State of Israel,
On November 5, 1990, in Manhattan in a hotel hall, Rabbi Meir Kahane zt”l, made his last speech.
He was in the middle of what he felt would be his last speaking tour to the United States as the US government, with the assistance of the so-called right-wing Israeli government, were successful in the process of permanently preventing the US born rabbi from reentering US soil after this trip.
The theme of his speech was about the formation of ZEERO, Zionist Emergency Evacuation Rescue Organization.
After finishing to deliver his speech, a young Egyptian born radical, El Sayid Nosair, pulled out a 357 Magnum and shot Rabbi Kahane in the neck, ending his illustrious Ahavat Yisrael filled life.
Like many great Jews before him throughout our history, the power brokers of the Jewish communities of his day defamed him, libeled him, banned him, and sometimes jailed him, even while many in the streets, the simple Jews, loved him.
While his ideas seemed paranoid and unrealistic to the comfortable Jews of his era, with the passage of 35 plus years, times have drastically changed. Jews in the Diaspora no longer feel safe on college campuses, in synagogues, and in most public areas if they appear to be clearly Jewish.
Openly hostile behavior toward Jews and Israel is now openly accepted. No honest Jew in the US, Canada, France, England, Belgium, Australia, etc, can say with confidence today that it is wise for their children to plan their futures in the Diaspora.
Israel has many enemies and a not always G-d fearing government that often makes the mistake of trying to please the Nations. With more and more industrious, hard working Jews coming home, belief will be strengthened. The Jewish leader won’t stand with trembling knees.
Jewish destiny is happening before our eyes.
Our task is to hasten the arrival of our redemption.
